When people ask why Luna AgriVenture started in Ngaoundéré, the answer is almost boring: the land is right.
The Adamawa plateau sits between 1,000 and 1,500 metres. The nights are cool, which slows growth and concentrates the essential oils that give ginger its bite. The soil is red, volcanic, and drains well — which matters when the rain comes hard between May and September.
What we look for in a plot
Not every hectare of Adamawa land makes the cut. We test soil pH, organic content, and moisture retention before we sign a lease. We walk the plot with the previous owner, ask what was planted before, and check for pesticide history.
Only about one in four plots we scout ends up in the Luna network. The rest either fail a soil test or lack the access roads we need for harvest logistics.
